Minister Han Changfu met with Mr. Urmas Kruuse, Minister of Rural Affairs of the Republic of Estonia, and his delegation in Kunming, Yunnan Province on Nov. 5, 2016. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening pragmatic agricultural cooperation between China and Estonia.
Minister Han extended warm welcome and gratitude to Mr. Urmas Kruuse for his second visit to China this year and his participation in the Meeting of China-CEEC Ministers of Agriculture and International Forum on Agro-Trade and Economic Cooperation. Minister Han spoke highly of the cooperation under the China-Estonia agricultural cooperation mechanism and commended Estonia's great attention and active participation in the "16+1' (China-CEEC) mechanism. Minister Han suggested that the two sides strengthen mutually-beneficial and win-win cooperation in agricultural trade and investment, and the development of agricultural information system, among others.
Mr. Kruuse highlighted China's efforts and contribution in promoting China-Estonia agricultural cooperation and the agricultural cooperation under the "16+1' (China-CEEC) mechanism. He also gave positive response to Minister Han's suggestions for future cooperation, expressing the willingness of the Estonian side to enhance communication between agribusinesses from the two sides and cooperation in organic farming.
